While attending his residency program, Dr. Calahan earned a Masters in Science for his research project titled: Histologic Evaluation of Wound Healing following Ridge Preservation with Cortical, Cancellous and Combined Cortico-Cancellous Freeze-Dried Bone Allograft, A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Dr. Calahan was awarded the John F. Prichard Prize for Graduate Research by the Southwest Society of Periodontists in 2017 for the paper’s contributions to the field of periodontal research. Maintenance of this width and height is critical for optimal outcomes for the replacement of teeth with dental implants.
